I have read articles on food dyes causing hyperactivity, but I never actually saw a list of which food dyes are the real culprits. I just read an article that listed the following as being problematic:
Yellow 5, Red 40, Blue 1, Blue 2, Green 3, Orange B, Red 3, and Yellow 6
Not everyone agrees that these dyes are dangerous, but I personally don’t see the purpose of dyeing food! I understand that food has its own visual appeal, but I have always thought blue food (other than blueberries of course) was just plain weird! Hopefully if dyes are banned food manufacturers will look to natural ingredients since most of these (turmeric, food or vegetable dyes) provide additional health benefits.
