Actual Consumer Question: Could you tell me what feedback you have gotten re: adora calcium upsetting the stomach? I had been taking it without problems, but today I had a bubbling feeling in my stomach.
My Answer:
Thanks for your interest in Adora Calcium. I am so glad your initial experience with the product went well. Most consumers tell us that our calcium supplement doesn't cause them stomach upset the way pills do. This is likely because of the fact that the calcium itself is broken down into microparticles before being mixed into the chocolate, which means it is easier for the body to digest. Plus the fact that it is packaged with chocolate means it is like a mini-meal which helps to stimulate the stomach acid that is needed for calcium digestion. That being said - it sounds like your latest Adora Calcium gave you some stomach uneasiness. The best way to get to the bottom of any digestive problems is to think about everything you had to eat and drink that day to try to determine what conditions give you problems.
Had you eaten anything with it? Some people find they are better able to handle supplements with additional food. Had you been drinking enough? Sometimes not having enough fluids, particularly water can upset the digestive process. I can't tell you for sure what happened, but hopefully with trial and error you can get to the bottom of what is causing your "bubbling". And, if Adora calcium doesn't work for you, you might want to try yogurt as a calcium source. Calcium is so important that if you aren't able to tolerate it through Adora Calcium, dairy, leafy greens, soy or fortified juice might be worth a try. Good luck!
